P4 Sörmland pays attention to low-flow dredging in Öljaren

Table of contents

Tecomatic has developed a concept for low-flow dredging, a method that is gentle on bottom fauna and aquatic organisms. Only the top layers of sediment are sucked up, which is especially important in environments where we want to minimize turbidity and avoid disturbing marine life.

Listen to the radio clip from P4 Sörmland with Jenny Herbertsson, environmental strategist at Katrineholm municipality, and Mikael Strand, project manager with us at Tecomatic. There, you will hear how low-flow dredging in Öljaren contributes to reduced internal loading in the lake, while phosphorus can be recovered from the sediment, which is then used to fertilize agriculture.

Do you need help to counteract internal loading and eutrophication in your watercourses? We also help you with suitable disposal for the collected sediment. If you have clean sediment, it can possibly be used as soil improvement. Contact us today and we’ll tell you more!

You will find our contact details and more information about the project here: Low-flow dredging improves water quality in Öljaren.
