Itinera was contracted to build the New Skuru Bridge in Skurusundet outside Stockholm. Typical challenges in this type of project are clouding work close to the water and bridge abutments. In addition, there was a high demand for specified rules for passing boat traffic, as the project was directly adjacent to a fairway with daily boat and ferry traffic.
Itinera chose to bring in Tecomatic as a strategic partner to plan as well as execute the environmental measures required in the project. We participated in the design work and produced the silt curtains according to the project’s requirements and assembled the system on site. In the course of the project, we allowed for entries and exits at both bridge piers. We also carried out supervision and inspections on selected occasions.
Upon completion of the project, we dismantled the silt curtains and ensured that no turbidity or sediment uptake occurred and took continuous turbidity measurements.
