Balcony railings can be used for various purposes, such as:

- Biodiversity: Promote aquatic organisms through features such as hanging rice mats, aquatic plants, and root curtains.
- Adaptable platforms: Bridges/modules that can be supplemented, reduced, expanded, or moved as needed.

- Hanging rice straw: For example, discarded Christmas trees can be lowered as artificial reefs under the quay balcony. This creates a natural environment where aquatic organisms and fish can find shelter, food, and reproduce.
- Aquatic plants: Modules that serve as natural habitats for wildlife. They act as a natural filter, capturing pollutants and nutrients from the water, which improves the water quality in surrounding waterways.
