When installed against sheet piling, the mattress is positioned to allow for tight sealing by casting concrete between the mattress and the sheet piling beams. For piled quays, the mattress is carefully fitted around the piles and sealed tightly to prevent propeller currents from washing out fine material. Concrete mattresses are particularly effective in the wave and swell zones, which are often found beneath quays where turbulence is created as waves and swells impact the back beam.<\/p>

One key advantage of using a textile mattress under a quay is the ease of installation. The mattress can be conveniently placed under the quay and grouted with concrete afterward. In cases where material has already eroded, we can perform backfilling by injecting concrete behind the concrete mattress in a controlled manner through its filter points. This method ensures proper restoration while reducing the need for extensive dredging to achieve frame-free depth.
